CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -

United Launch Alliance successfully launched a Delta IV rocket from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Friday night.

The rocket took a new Global Positioning System satellite into orbit. The satellite is the sixth of 12 new next-generation GPS satellites being deployed around the world. It's the second of four GPS missions planned to launch from the Cape this year.

The launch comes after a scrubbed launch Thursday night because of bad weather.
