Body found in car at Publix in Brevard County

MELBOURNE, Fla. - A body was found Monday inside a car in the parking lot of a Publix supermarket in Melbourne, according to police.

The body was discovered at 1355 South Babcok Street after police were contacted around 3 a.m. in connection with a missing person.

Melbourne police Sgt. Shawn Eising said the parent of the owner of the car asked Vero Beach police to search for her daughter, who had been missing for a few days.

It's not yet been confirmed if the body is that of the missing woman.

No other details have been released.
