DELTONA, Fla. – A Tuesday afternoon main break in the area of Waycross and Shorecrest led to a boil water notice issued in Deltona.
The notice was issued as a precautionary measure after the main break caused a loss of pressure in the distribution systems.
The bacteriological quality of the water is questionable as of now, but Deltona Water will be flushing the affected lines and collecting samples for two days once the flushing and disinfection are completed.
According to the City of Deltona, 22 homes have been affected by the break and the notice will likely be in place for 72 hours.
Deltona Water said the notice will remain in effect until satisfactory samples are received.
