Boil water notice issued for Holly Hill

HOLLY HILL, Fla. – The City of Holly is issuing a City-wide precautionary boil water notice following a water main break on Walker Street.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. Thursday, a car accident resulted in damage to a fire hydrant in the 400 block of Walker Street. The accident remains under investigation by Holly Hill Police and utilities crews are working to restore water to residents in the area.

This work is expected to take several hours and Walker Street remains closed to traffic between Graham Avenue and Center Street until further notice.

As a precaution, officials are advising all residents served by the municipal water system to bring water used for drinking or cooking to a rolling boil for at least one minute before consumption. As an alternative, bottled water may be used. This precautionary boil water alert will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey confirms that the water is once again safe to drink. At that time a recession notice will be issued.

Residents who have questions regarding this service interruption may contact Holly Hill Public Works at (386) 248-9463.
