Bomb threat evacuates Orange County high school

University High School evacuated after threat reported

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies investigated a bomb threat Thursday that prompted the evacuation of University High School in Orlando.

The threat was reported to deputies just before 10 a.m. at the high school at 2450 Cougar Way, deputies said.

Video from Local 6 news helicopter showed students gathered in the bleachers as deputies reviewed the campus.

Waterford Elementary School was also evacuated because it is located near the high school, according to Orange County Public Schools.

After a sweep of the campus, students were allowed to return to class.
