APOPKA, Fla. – A man with a note that read "bomb" prompted an evacuation at the Orange County Library Wednesday afternoon in Apopka, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at the North Orange Library branch at 1211 East Semoran Blvd. at 4:54 p.m.
The 60-year-old man was taken into custody to be questioned after being accused of being in possession of an explosive device and making threats to harm people in the area. However, an investigation found the man was not in possession of explosives and his alleged threats were unfounded, determined to be a misunderstanding.
The library was evacuated for precautionary purposes during the incident.
Deputies said they continue their efforts of encouraging citizens, "If you see something, say something."
