Boy arrested after bringing BB gun to school, Palm Bay police say

Cops say boy, 13, was pointing gun at students at Jupiter Elementary

PALM BAY, Fla. – A 13-year-old boy is in custody on Friday after Palm Bay police say he was pointing a BB gun at other children at school after classes were dismissed for the day.

Police said the incident occurred on school grounds at Jupiter Elementary School just after 3 p.m.

Witnesses told police the student was walking home with several other children after school was dismissed when he pulled a BB gun out of a backpack and was pointed it at other students.

No shots were fired and no one was injured, according to police.

It's not clear if the student will be suspended from school, or if the boy was a student at Jupiter Elementary.

The investigation is ongoing.
