Brevard 7-Eleven robbed twice this week by same person, police say

Officers looking for repeat robber

COCOA, Fla. – Cocoa police officers believe the same person is responsible for two robberies this week at a 7-Eleven convenience store.

News 6 obtained surveillance video that police said shows the robber stealing money from the Dixon Boulevard store at 4 a.m. Wednesday.

The man can be seen disguised with a bandanna, sunglasses and a dark hoodie.

"You can't really see anything because he's covered," Cocoa police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said.

Police said the robber had hidden a gun inside his hoodie and the video shows him waving it the air as he walks out of the 7-Eleven with cash.

"He displayed a firearm," Martinez said.

Police said the same man robbed the same 7-Eleven early Sunday.

"It was very similar to what occurred on Sunday, similar approach, similar entry, similar description," Martinez said.

No one was hurt in either holdup.

Police said the clerks did the right thing by handing over the money.

"They did what they had to do," Martinez said. "They complied so that nobody was hurt."

Officers say the robber is in his 30s and is of average height.

If you know who he is, police want you to call Crime Line.

Investigators think he could be responsible for even more robberies in Cocoa.

"There's also a concern when you have repeat activity like this, that it could escalate. That's the primary concern," Martinez said.
