Brevard County doctor arrested in hit-and-run crash

Angela Shelton released on $7,500 bond

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. – A Brevard County doctor charged in a deadly hit-and-run crash has bonded out of jail. 

Dr. Angela Shelton turned herself in to authorities Thursday in Indian River County, News 6 partner Florida Today reported. 

Police said Shelton hit a man who was walking along a road in Sebastian last April. 

Investigators said Shelton told them that she didn't realize she had hit anyone and left the scene, but she called police after she saw that her car was damaged. 

Shelton was released from jail after posting a $7,500 bond. 

According to reports, Shelton is the medical director of Ideal Image in Viera.
