MELBOURNE, Fla. – A SWAT standoff in Brevard County involving a man with an 8-month-old baby ended peacefully Friday morning, according to deputies.
The standoff took place on Anchorage Lane near Aurora Road in Melbourne.
According to Brevard deputies, the man beat a woman early Friday morning, but she was able to flee the home.
The man then barricaded himself in the home with the baby, deputies said.
Some time later, the 30-year-old man surrendered and was taken into custody, deputies said.
The baby was not harmed.
No other details have been released.
