RENTON, Wash. - A bride-to-be is making adjustments to her wedding after realizing she'll be saying "I do" when her favorite team plays in the Super Bowl.
Shawna Cook and her husband chose February 2 as their wedding date months before the NFL playoffs.
"I thought, '2-2, that's easy enough for my fiance to remember,'" Cook told KING-TV.
As her favorite team -- the Seattle Seahawks -- prepared for their NFC Championship battle against the rival San Francisco 49ers, Cook realized she was four quarters away from a "super" problem. Sure enough, the Seahawks won, leaving Cook to make last-second adjustments.
"I'm fourth-generation Washingtonian," Cook told KING-TV. "It's thick in my veins: blue and green, from the Mariners to the Seahawks."
Cook says her guests started messaging her when the Seahawks earned a bid into Super Bowl XLVIII.
"All of my cousins who are coming said, 'There better be a big screen there,'" Cook told KING-TV.
Super Bowl XLVIII kicks off at 3:30 p.m. on the west coast. Cook's wedding starts at 4 p.m.
Cook says there will be a 60-inch television set up for Seahawks fans.
"As soon as the ceremony is over, it is going to be Seahawks central for the next hour and a half," Cook said.
