Brother of man killed by escaped Florida inmate wanted
Police say victim's brother threatened family of escaped inmate
An arrest warrant was issued on Thursday for the brother of the man killed by Charles Walker, one of the inmates who escaped from Florida prison, after police say he threatened Walker's relatives when Walker was on the run.
Willie Slater Jr., 36, is a wanted felon who is the brother of Cedric Slater, who was murdered 15 years ago by Walker. Police said when Walker was mistakenly released from prison in the last month, Slater began making "serious and credible threats" to several of Walker's relatives.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Slater on aggravated stalking charges and threats to kill.
Slater, who is on felony probation, has also been issued a violation of probation warrant because of the new charges
Slater is considered dangerous and may be armed, police said. Contact local law enforcement or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS if you have any information on Slater's whereabouts.
