ORLANDO, Fla. -

Mixing social media and alcohol can produce questionable results. However, Budweiser is making it easier than ever to the link the two.

The brewing company is testing a new project called the "Buddy Cup." Drinkers who have trouble meeting new friends will be able to do so with a simple "cheers."

The "Buddy Cup" links a person's Facebook account with his or her pint glass. Budweiser installs a microchip inside each cup and places a QR code on the bottom of the glass.

Drinkers can scan the QR code with their phones, log on to Facebook and link their accounts with their glasses.

Once linked, drinkers can instantly become Facebook friends by toasting and bumping their "Buddy Cups" together.

Budweiser is currently only testing the "Buddy Cup" program in Brazil.
