Mall security reported the burglary at Reeds Jewelry Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Authorities said the suspects have entered into the mall overnight or early morning hours and cut a hole in the roof.

Police said there's jewelry left in the store and that it appears items were targeted. An exact amount of jewelry stolen was unavailable.

Police also found a rope at the scene but it's not clear what the rope was being used for.

Officers did respond to an alarm call at the store at 5:02 a.m. While on scene, officers were not able to see the hole in the ceiling and the showroom was not in disarray.

Police said the merchandise that was stolen was taken by opening a rear sliding door to a display case. In addition, the steel security shutters to the business were closed and locked.

The mall is open for shoppers as police continue their investigation, mall officials said.
