Burglars caught stealing guns in seconds, Casselberry police say

Gun store: 4 assault rifles, rifle scope, Glock 17 9 mm pistol stolen

CASSELBERRY, Fla. – Casselberry police are looking for two burglars who crawled through drywall and broke into a gun store early Thursday morning.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday at Southern Guns on U.S. 1792 in Casselberry.

Surveillance video shows the two crooks in hoodies and gloves running in, pulling rifles from wall displays, and knocking down case displays to get to assault rifles and pistols.

Police said the robbery took less than 20 seconds.

A vacant unit sits right next to Southern Guns. Police said the two crooks broke the window, smashed through the drywall and crawled their way into the gun shop.

Workers were repairing the damage and taking inventory Thursday afternoon to find out the total loss in property. The store reports four missing assault rifles, rifle scope, and a Glock 17 9 mm pistol.

This is the second time the gun shop has been robbed in a matter of months. In May, Local 6 spoke to the owner, Casey Burke, after crooks used a bench to smash their way into the store.

The store reports more security has been added since the last robbery.

Anyone who has information about this robbery is asked to call Casselberry police.
