Car ignites on I-95 in Brevard County

COCOA, Fla. – Southbound Interstate 95 was shut down in Cocoa because of a car fire, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at exit 202 near State Road 524 just before noon on Wednesday, according to troopers. The interstate reopened shortly after noon.

Florida Department of Transportation cameras showed smoke billowing out of the car as sparks flew from the fire. Some of the grass near the vehicle appeared to ignite as well, but fire officials have extinguished the fire.

It's not clear if there are any injuries.

No other details were immediately available.
