Officers said the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle near the Kathleen Road overpass and hit the left rear of the tractor-trailer.  The big rig then dragged the car for several hundred feet before coming to a stop on the shoulder, troopers said.

The driver and passenger of the car sustained minor injuries and were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center. The truck driver was uninjured.
