Carjacking suspects arrested after crash

Police say weapons recovered from stolen van

ORLANDO, Fla. – Police arrested two carjacking suspects accused of trying to flee from officers after they crashed the stolen vehicle.

The carjacking occurred around 11:00 p.m. in the Orange County jurisdiction.

According to Orlando police, the suspects continued driving after officers tried to perform a traffic stop.

After a brief pursuit, police said the stolen van crashed near Conley Street in Orlando. The suspects are accused of fleeing from the van. They were arrested a short time later. 

Police said they were able to track the suspects down quickly because of increased patrol in the area for the holiday weekend.

According to police, weapons were recovered from the vehicle.

The victim is expected to be okay.
