ORLANDO, Fla. -

Several cars in a downtown Orlando apartment complex garage were damaged early Wednesday by fire, prompting the building to be evacuated.

At least four vehicles were damaged in the blaze, which broke out around 4 a.m. at Uptown Place on Orange Avenue, just east of Interstate 4.

Witnesses told Local 6 they heard explosions as the fire raged.

Firefighters battled the blaze, and residents were later allowed to re-enter their homes.

The garage is attached to the apartment building, but no other damage was reported.  The garage will remain closed while officials conduct an investigation.

No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is not known.
