Cops: Peeping Tom cut hole in fence, watched girl change clothes

Casselberry man faces charges of voyeurism, loitering/prowling

CASSELBERRY, Fla. – A Casselberry man is accused of looking into the room of a 10-year-old girl as she was changing to go to bed, police said.

The girl told police she had just gone into her room after getting out of the shower and was in the middle of changing for bed when she noticed Jeffrey Schlaudecker looking in the window.

The girl told police that she screamed and ran to get her father.

"She said, 'I saw something move and when I looked back at the window he was looking at me,'" the victim's father said.

Police noted in the report that “small green plants near window (appear) to have been recently stepped on and pushed down.”

The officer saw a square hole cut in the fence near the window, noting that the “hole is large enough to where someone could crouch under it and enter the backyard,” the report said.

"I don't see a reason why the hole would be there and I don't see why he wouldn't finish the job if he was replacing the wood or something like that," the victim's father said.

Reddick tells News 6 he noticed the hole about a week ago. He adds the hole is directly across from his daughter's window and their bathroom window. He also thinks Schlaudecker's has peeped on his daughter more than once.

Officers observed a man matching Schlaudecker's description standing in his yard and hiding. When officers shone a flashlight at him, he hid behind a post, police said.

He told police that he was out with a friend that evening and had recently gotten home. He said he was “hanging out in his house” and “did not know why he would cut a hole in it (fence),” the report said.

Schlaudecker was charged with] voyeurism and loitering and prowling. He had his first appearance in court Thursday afternoon. The judge granted him a $750 bail. The judge also warned him to stay away from the family and their home.

"I'm just going to give a helpful word of advice: his neighbors and law enforcement will be watching," the judge said.

The victim's father says his family feels violated and his daughter is scared in her own home.
"I know that he knows he's been caught," the victim's said. "As far as what I'm going to do, I'm going to take extra precautions. They're definitely going to be sleeping in my room."
