Central Florida International Auto Show opens for holiday weekend

Thousands expected at show at Orange County Convention Center

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – From off-roading to robots, the Central Florida International Auto Show will be rolling out high-tech gadgets for thousands of visitors this holiday weekend.

"We get lots of families, coming down, walk, off the turkey, check out the new models, it's become kind of a tradition for people in our area," said Shelbi Okumura, spokesperson for the auto show.

Hundreds of automobiles are shined and detailed inside the Orange County Convention Center.

Professional drivers offer rides around an indoor track, and a performance simulator gives the virtual experience of a Ford Mustang racing around a track. Licensed drivers can test drive dozens of models outside the convention center.

"When you're going up that, its very roller-coaster like, in the fact, all you see is the ceiling," said Beth Prantera, spokesperson for Camp Jeep.

The Central Florida International Auto Show will be open to the public Thursday, November 26 through Sunday in the North Concourse Building. Doors are open from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for children 7-12. Children under 6 are admitted free when accompanied by a parent.
