LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - If you love to run, were a part of the 2013 Disney Marathon Weekend or both--some big changes are coming to next year's event that you may want to be a part of.
A fourth run will make its debut. The first Walt Disney World 10K will be part of the 2014 Disney Marathon Weekend lineup.
Because of this fourth race, a new challenge will debut. Right now, if you complete a 5K, a half marathon and a full marathon during the weekend, you win the Goofy Challenge. If you complete all three of those, plus the new 10K, you will also win the Dopey Challenge, and leave the park with a total of six medals.
The Dopey Challenge ends up totaling 48.60 miles over four days.
The lineup is as follows: 5K on Thursday, 10K on Friday, the half marathon follows on Saturday, and the Walt Disney World Marathon rounds it all out on Sunday. The entire weekend will begin on Wednesday with Disney's Health & Fitness Expo.
You can register for the races beginning April 9. They will take place between Jan. 8-12, 2014.
If you register before June 18, the Marathon registration fee is $160. The Goofy Challenge will cost $340, the Dopey Challenge is $495 by that date. The 10K is $95 and the 5K is $60.
