Charter bus ignites on Turnpike, backs up traffic

KENANSVILLE, Fla. - A charter bus ignited on Florida's Turnpike Thursday afternoon, forcing troopers to shut down northbound lanes in Osceola County.

Florida Highway Patrol said the bus ignited at mile marker 200, near Kenansville. All occupants on the bus were evacuated safely, troopers said.

The road has since been reopened, but traffic was backed up.

It's not clear what caused the fire and how many people were on the bus.
