It took officials approximately three hours to locate the family of a child who was found alone near a busy road early Sunday morning in Cocoa.
Deputies said a concerned citizen called them around 1:05 a.m. after hearing a child crying and then finding the 4-year-old boy.
The boy was reportedly wearing soiled clothes, had no shoes on and was distraught.
Due to having no information about the child other than his name and age, deputies used K-9 bloodhounds to assist in the search.
While attempting to find the family, officials found the child clean clothes and food.
The child's family was located after about three hours. Deputies said they believe the child had wandered from the home after the family had gone to bed.
No charges are pending at this time.
