Immediately after the ceremony, volunteers placed nearly 600 wreaths in the military section of the cemetery.

The public was also invited to the event and had the opportunity to volunteer to place the wreaths.

The Wreaths Across America Day tradition started over 20 years ago, when the Worcester Wreath Company from Harrington, Maine, began donating and placing wreaths on the headstones of America's fallen heroes at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
