Clermont police investigate man in tanning bed voyeurism
Authorities say they found no pictures, video on the man's phone
Clermont police are investigating a man who they say was caught filming a woman undressing in a tanning booth on Tuesday.
Authorities said the victim was at the LA Tanning salon, located on the 1000 block of East Highway 50, reported she saw a man's arm holding a camera above the 7-foot partition wall in an apparent attempt to film her while she was undressing.
The victim confronted the man in the next booth, who denied her allegations, according to the report. The man told authorities he was in the tanning room when the girl started screaming in the room to his west, knocked on the door and accused him of taking pictures of her while she was naked.
Authorities didn't find any photos or videos of the victim on the man's phone. Police did find a chair at the wall, which could have been used as a step.
"At first I did, but now that there's a chair there, maybe not," said Debbie Rapport, who says her son was at the salon when the incident happened. She described that the victim was "coming out here and screaming deterring everybody from coming in."
Customers tell Local 6 the incident has them feeling a little uneasy.
"I mean that's your privacy and its not a totally enclosed room so, I mean, anyone can really look over and see what you are doing," said customer Faith DeLaria.
The voyeurism investigation is ongoing.
