The United States Coast Guard confirmed one person suffered a head injury after their sailboat was forced ashore Saturday morning.

Coast Guard officials said a sailboat that had three people on board was forced ashore at A1A in the Mosquito Lagoon early Saturday morning because of 15 foot waves and high winds.

Officials said one person suffered a head injury after his head hit the mast of the ship.

That person was airlifted to a local hospital, but the other two people on board were not injured, officials said.

Officials said the boat was still washed up and conditions on the ocean were rough.
