Historic Glass Bank may face lawsuit from city  of Cocoa Beach

COCOA BEACH, Fla. - The majority owner of the dilapidated Glass Bank in Cocoa Beach will not fight city efforts to have the dilapidated building declared a nuisance and demolished.

But a building co-owner, who made his home on the top floor, is not cooperating, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.

The agreement with Joseph Yossifon, trustee for the Glass Bank Building Condominium Association, would let the city clear the site and allow it to put a lien on the property to recoup the costs.

According to the deal, Yossifon has agreed to not fight a nuisance lawsuit that Cocoa Beach is considering to have the landmark Glass Bank repaired or razed.

The city commission will consider the agreement at a meeting Thursday at city hall.
