The attack reportedly happened just after 10 p.m. in the 900 block of School Street.

"We're not sure what happened. He's saying that he was attacked by two men. There were no witnesses. He was coherent but we are looking into his story," Yvonne Martinez, spokeswoman for the Cocoa Police Department, told Florida Today.

Brevard County Fire Rescue crews transported the man, who suffered a blunt force trauma to the back of the head, to a nearby hospital.
