Cooler weather projected for weekend

New system brings rain chances, cold temperatures

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida residents can expect cooler weather by Friday--just in time for the holiday weekend.

Temperatures on Friday are expected to drop 20 degrees to a high of 66 and a low of 44. 

"With the next system bringing slight rain chances up to 20 percent Thursday but then big changes on Friday- a 30 percent chance for rain but only warming to 66 degrees," said Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges.

The cooler weather will last through the weekend with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s and lows in the mid 40s.

Up until the cool down, temperatures are expected to reach the upper 70s and low 80s.
