A handful of Orange County schools have students hot and bothered dealing with no air conditioning in several classrooms across the county.
At Deerwood Elementary in Orange County, two classrooms still have air-conditioning issues.
At Riverdale Elementary, a portable classroom has no air conditioning.
Earlier in the week, Lake Nona Middle School's second floor had cooling issues and North Lake Park blew a fuse on one of their chillers. Both were fixed by Tuesday.
Local 6 first told you about the sweltering classrooms at Dr. Phillips High School, where 10 portable classrooms were without air conditioning for four days.
Students and parents called Local 6 complaining about the conditions.
Orange County Public Schools said maintenance crews try to prepare over the summer but the influx of hundreds of teachers and students overwhelms the cooling system.
It seems Brevard County is dealing with the same woes.
Space Coast Junior/Senior High School, Bayside High School, University Park and Lockmar Elementary schools are starting classes earlier to manage temperatures as air-conditioning repairs are underway.
The district's administration building is also dealing with air-conditioning issues and needs $150,000 worth of repairs.
