Police are looking for three gunmen who allegedly robbed and attacked two tourists from Venezuela in an Orlando parking lot.
Officers responded around 3:30 a.m. Friday to the Ramada Inn on S. John Young Parkway in reference to an armed persons robbery.
Ivonne Rincon told Orlando police her husband, Robinson Lizano, parked their rental car, a 2012 silver Jeep Patriot, in the northeast parking lot at 3:10 a.m., close to surfside way.
Lizano got out of the Jeep and walked to the hotel lobby to get information on room vacancy. Inside the Jeep were Rincon, Lizano's mother, and their 5-year-old and 7-year-old children in the back seat.
As Lizano approached the Jeep, police said he saw three men walking towards his car.
Lizano was outside the Jeep's driver side door when police said he was approached by the men who all pulled out semi-automatic handguns, police said.
After the men demanded money from Lizano, he told them he didn't have any. For that reason, police said one of the men pointed a gun at Lizano's face. Lizano then handed over his wallet.
Police said the man then struck Lizano repeatedly in the face with the butt of the gun. The same gunman then walked around the Jeep and struck Rincon twice with the butt of the gun, once on the nose and the other on the right side of the head, according to police.
Rincon told police that the gun went off when she was struck. She heard one shot go off, but said she wasn't certain. All three of the men then took off.
Police said Lizano suffered a laceration to his left eybrow and also his right upper lip. Rincon suffered four small lacerations to her nose and a small laceration to the right side of her head.
Orlando police described the suspects to be three black men in their 20s that are about 5-feet 9 inches tall and with a slim build. The men were all wearing black hoodies and ski masks.
Those with any information about this incident are asked to call Orlando police.
