ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -

Orange County deputies continue to investigate a death in east Orange County after a co-worker discovered a body inside a home and another person was found suffering from critical injuries.

The body of Santiago Velez-Prieto, 35, was found inside a home at 1521 Rivers Edge Drive around 3:50 p.m. Saturday.  Gregory Groves, 44, was discovered with a life-threatening wound and deputies said on Monday that he's not expected to survive.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the case appears to be a murder-attempted suicide.

According to deputies, a man went to check on his co-workers and spotted a body inside the home.  He immediately called 911, said deputies, who found another person in the back of the home with life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said that person, later identified as Groves, was taken to a hospital.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said there were signs of alcohol and drug use at the home, but it's not yet known what role they played in the shootings.

No other details have been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
