Deltona ATM robbery victim recognizes her attacker

DELTONA, Fla. – A 17-year-old girl called 911 after being attacked at an ATM by her friend's mother, Volusia County deputies said.

Blair McCarron's attacker smashed her face against her steering wheel after following her from an ATM at the Bank of America at Providence and Normandy boulevards in Deltona late Saturday night.

"It was terrifying," she said. "She's coming on top of me telling me she's going to kill me, saying I'm done."

As she kicked and fought for her life, she realized she knew exactly who was trying to rob her: Tammy Perras, 45, her friend's mom.

"I didn't expect it from a woman to another woman," McCarron said. "It wasn't just towards me. She was just waiting for somebody to do it to."

McCarron said Perras recognized her and begged her not to call authorities. Perras said that her daughter didn't have a job and she needed money to buy diapers for her grandchild, according to McCarron. So, she gave her attacker $5 in hopes that would allow her to escape.

"I'm a mom and I'm working two jobs, seven days a week to support my kid and you're not going to come try to take something that I am working for," said McCarron.

Perras' family denies anything happened, including another daughter who was at the scene during the attack.

"I think it's a 100 percent lie because how are you going to be fine, laughing around, joking around, but not even a half hour later now you're crying your eyes out that you got attacked," Kayla Perras said.

Perras remains in jail on robbery and child abuse charges because the victim is a juvenile.
