ORMOND BEACH, Fla. -

Voluisa County deputies are searching for a culprit they say has been staring into homes wearing a Scream mask.

Deputies said in one of the incidents earlier this month, the culprit was wearing all black clothing and peering into the kitchen window from the pool enclosure at a home on Ashridge Lane in Ormond Beach.

When the victim saw the culprit, he ran out of the pool area, according to deputies.  The victim chased the culprit down Ashridge Lane, but lost sight after the culprit ran into a wooded area.

The victim told deputies he initially thought it was a friend playing a joke but after checking with his friends, it is not anyone he knows.

Two suspicious vehicles -- a dark colored small SUV and a dark colored older Cavalier -- were reported being spotted in the area.

Deputies searched the area but didn't find the masked assailant.
