Cyber Monday shoppers can double donations

Buy4.com will match charitable contributions

ORLANDO, Fla. – Cyber Monday  will be transformed into a one-day charity fundraiser courtesy of Buy4.com.

The "online gateway" announced Tuesday that it will match every charitable contribution made by holiday shoppers at more than 2,500 retailers.

The company says there is "no set limit" on the day's total fundraising effort.

According to the company, all consumers need to do is designate a charity and Buy4.com will match the contribution.

"We started this company with the mission to provide organizations and their supporters with a free and powerful fundraising tool," said Frank Molnar, managing partner at Buy4.com. "We've helped more than 200 nonprofits, schools and associations to date -- causes such as Autism Speaks, the United Nations Foundation, Give Kids the World and even the American Red Cross supporting those affected by Superstorm Sandy."

When you sign up on buy4.com there are no surprises. Membership is free and shoppers have roughly 1.5 million causes to chose from .  If your cause is not on the list, simply request the charity to be added.

The retailers are well known sites, including  amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Target and Walmart.

How does it work?

If you purchased LeapFrog -- LeapPad2 available at amazon.com for $99 plus tax "approximately six percent will be donated to the member's charity of choice."

The matching funds offer is limited to Cyber Monday purchases only.
