A special needs student in Orange County schools, who was bused to Orlando Tech, is expected to give birth in about two weeks. Her father tells Local 6 he is outraged that no one saw or reported her and her boyfriend having sex in the back of the school bus.
"Orange County schools has dropped the ball in protecting my kid -- my daughter -- in their schools," said Todd Barrett.
Surveillance cameras caught his 18-year-old daughter and her boyfriend having sex 12 times in 16 days in the back seat of an Orange County schools bus in plain sight of nine other kids, a bus monitor and a bus driver.
He had the bus supervisor pull those recorded videos.
"She (bus supervisor) said it's the most disturbing thing she's seen in 25 years of busing and monitoring," Barrett said.
Students who were just feet away from the the couple at the time they were having sex signed statements saying they saw them doing "inappropriate things," "making out" and doing "something else," while the bus driver and bus monitor claim they saw nothing.
Local 6 went to the bus driver's home to ask her if cameras next to her rear view mirror caught the act, how come she didn't, but she wouldn't talk to Local 6.
"I want to know why nobody kept my kid safe on the school bus," Barrett said. "Why nothing was done."
Barrett says he's still waiting to hear from the Department of Children and Families to figure out next steps.
The bus monitor was investigated and retired from her job before the district was set to fire her. The bus driver is still on duty, according to school records.
