ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. – A man who said that he wasn't man enough to raise a child attempted to kill his son by involving him in a car accident.

KDVR in Denver reports Weitzel, 29, was charged with first-degree attempted murder, child abuse, assault, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance and vehicular assault.
Weitzel told police, "the reason he wanted to kill Isaiah was because being a father was a big responsibility and he did not think he was man enough to raise a child."
He later told investigators, "I was trying to kill my son."
According to police, Weitzel took Isaiah to a local park while he thought of a place to crash his car.
Weitzel was seen holding Isaiah after the crash
Isaiah, whose parents are separated, survived the crash and was hospitalized with a half-body cast and suffered cuts on his head.
The boy was able to leave the hospital after a few days, but doctors believe it will take him months to learn how to walk again.
A GoFundMe account has been created to help with Isaiah's medical bills.
