Daytona Beach city commissioner charged with battery in strip club incident

Affidavit: Carl Lentz threw alcoholic beverage on or near victim

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A Volusia County state attorney has filed a battery charge against Daytona Beach commissioner Carl Lentz after a March disturbance at a local strip club.

On or about March 21, state attorneys said Commissioner Carl Lentz touched or struck Amanda Frymyer against her will, or did intentionally cause bodily harm to her, contrary to a Florida statute.

Lentz threw an alcoholic beverage on or about Frymyer's face, head and body against her will, according to the charging affidavit.

Lentz was caught on video showing him inside of the strip club, where he was accused of asking an employee for sex in exchange for less police patrolling of the club.

Local 6 also obtained surveillance video showing Lentz getting into a fight with a restaurant manager months before the strip club incident.
