Daytona Beach police search for man in carjacking

Owner of 2013 Ford Mustang carjacked, police say

A vehicle similar to the one pictured is sought in a carjacking.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police are searching for culprit who they say carjacked a man outside of his work on Friday night.

Police said the victim was locking the gate at his work, Independent Printing on Mason Avenue and left his vehicle running. The victim said a man in a small blue vehicle pulled up next to his 2013 Red Ford Mustang and got in.

As the victim tried to grab his car keys from the ignition, the culprit began punching him and drove away, running over the victim's foot, police said.

The vehicle was last spotted driving southbound on Segrave Street from Mason Avenue.

Police said they believe the same vehicle was involved in an aggravated assault near Mason Avenue early Monday morning.

The vehicle is described as a 2013 Red Ford Mustang GT, bearing Florida tag T27-2ST.

Police said the culprit is described as a light-skinned black male in his late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches with short hair and wearing dark clothing.
