Death investigation underway after 2 shot dead, Orange County cops say

APOPKA, Fla. – Deputies are investigating after two people were found dead Wednesday with apparent gunshot wounds.

Deputies said they were called to 1567 Apopka Boulevard just after noon, where they found a woman, identified as 43-year-old Eva McDermid, dead at the residence.

A second victim, a man who was later identified as 43-year-old Markeith Pope, was also found shot, according to deputies.

Orange County Fire Rescue transported Pope to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died.
