FHP releases description of vehicle involved in Brevard fatal hit-and-run

COCOA, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers have released the vehicle description in a Brevard County hit-and-run that left a jogger dead earlier this week.

Brevard County deputies were initially called out to the site of the deadly incident about 7:10 a.m. Monday after a passerby found the body of a man near a ditch along a dead-end, just north of State Road 520. The man, who left his home about 4:30 a.m. to go out for a morning jog, authorities reported.

Troopers said they are looking for a 1993 to 1998 light grey Jeep Cherokee with damage to the front left or right headlight/turn signal assembly.

The hit-and-run also comes the same day of a push for public awareness about drivers who flee the scene of accidents.
