Death penalty hearing set for Brandon Bradley

Judge to deliver final sentence later in month

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The man convicted of killing Brevard County sheriff's Deputy Barbara Pill will appear in court Thursday afternoon for a death penalty hearing.

The hearing will be the last chance for attorneys to try to sway the judge's opinion about whether Brandon Bradley, 25, deserves the death penalty, according to Local 6 News partner Florida Today.

Bradley was convicted of killing Pill during a traffic stop in March 2012.

Jurors recommended by a 10-2 vote that he should be put to death. Judge Morgan Reinman will get the final say on what Bradley's sentence will be, but she must give the jury's recommendation great weight.

Reinman is scheduled to deliver the final sentence later this month.
