DeLAND, Fla. – A 43-year-old DeLand man was killed in a crash Wednesday night when a pickup truck turned into the path of his motorcycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The man, identified by the FHP as Kenneth Engelhardt, died in the crash, which occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of East New York Avenue and Grand Avenue.

According to the FHP, a pickup driven by 78-year-old Leo Ashline, of DeLand, attempted to cross New York Avenue, striking Engelhardt, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
