Deputies: Brevard Co. man accused of killing mother's dogs with box cutter

Deputies say man was jealous of his mom's pets

MELBOURNE, Fla. – A Brevard County man is facing charges of animal cruelty after investigators say he admitted to attacking four of his mother's dogs with a box cutter, killing three of them.

Adam Kosa, 22, was arrested Tuesday outside a home off Croton Road in Melbourne.

When deputies responded to the house for a hung-up 911 call, they said they found Kosa sitting on the front porch covered in blood and holding a box cutter.

Kosa admitted to attacking the dogs because he was mad at his mother, according to deputies.

Investigators said Kosa felt his mom loved the dogs more than him.

The surviving dog is recovering at an animal hospital. Kosa's mother has two other dogs that were not injured, according to authorities.

Kosa is being held in the Brevard County jail on a $100,000 bond, charged with four counts of animal cruelty.
