Deputies search for missing woman

Authorities say Judy Ruiz, 20, hasn't taken her medication since Wednesday morning

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies are searching for a missing woman who suffers from a mental disability, authorities said.

Judy Liana Ruiz, 20, was last seen at about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday when she left her group home on foot near Semoran Boulevard and Colonial Drive.

Deputies said they are concerned about Ruiz because she has not taken her medication since Wednesday morning.

The Orange County Sheriff's helicopter searched for Ruiz Wednesday afternoon near her neighborhood. About a dozen deputies have been showing residents Ruiz's picture and patrolling the area to find the missing woman, authorities said.

"Oh my God, I hope nothing happened to her," said neighbor Irma Morales, who just found out the 20-year-old disappeared from their quiet neighborhood.

"It's like, it could be my daughter, you know?" said Morales. "I got my daughters and my grandkids (here)."

Deputies told Local 6 it is uncharacteristic of Ruiz to walk away and disappear. They checked with Ruiz's friends and no one has seen her.

"You never know. You never know nowadays," said neighbor Marilyn Gonzalez. "That could have happened to me or anybody else that's in or around the area."

Authorities said Ruiz is five feet and nine inches tall, weighs 185 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.

She was last seen wearing a grey shirt and blue jean capris with a black belt around her waist. She may also be wearing glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
