MOUNT DORA, Fla. – A man has been charged after deputies say he threatened to kill another man if he didn't give him his wallet.
Deputies said at 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 15, there was a knock on the victim's door on Robinhood Court in Mount Dora.

The victim answered the door and was greeted by a man, later identified by deputies as Christopher Porter, saying, "Hello sir." Deputies said the victim responded saying, "Hello."
Porter reached into the home where the victim was standing and grabbed the victim by his throat, deputies said.
Porter demanded the victim's wallet and deputies said he threatened to "kill" him if he did not comply.
Deputies said the victim fought back by grabbing Porter's throat, then yelled for his wife to call 911. Porter broke free and fled the area on foot.
The victim's neck was visibly red from where deputies said Porter had grabbed him.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office said Porter is known to knock on doors and solicit for money. Deputies said Porter had also been released from the Florida Department of Corrections on Oct. 26 for the criminal charge of home invasion robbery.
Onc Dec. 9, a sergeant presented a photo line-up to the victim. Porter was among the photos contained within the line-up. After review, the victim identified Porter as the man who battered him while he was inside his home and attempted to rob him of his wallet, deputies said.
Deputies said Porter was then arrested. In an interview, Porter placed himself within a block of the victim's home on Nov. 15. However, deputies said Porter denied going to the victim's home.
Porter was charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of burglary/battery.
