Deputies: Tavares mayor arrested

Arrested for firing a gun during an argument in his home

TAVARES, Fla. – A Lake county arrest report states that Robert Wolfe, 46, mayor of Tavares, was arrested for firing a gun in his home during an argument.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office said that Wolfe was arrested at 10:50 p.m. Friday and transported to the Lake County Jail, charged with shooting into or within an occupied dwelling.

While following up on a domestic violence complaint it was determined that Wolfe had fired a gun in the residence during an argument a few days earlier, deputies said.

Further investigation determined that there was probable cause for the arrest, authorities said.

Wolfe was transported to the Lake County Jail without incident. His bond has been set at $10,000.
