Deputies: Teacher arrested for having sex with student

High school teacher gave student alcohol, had sex with her, deputies say

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Flagler County Sheriff's deputies say they arrested a Matanzas High School English teacher and track coach Saturday morning on charges that he allegedly had sex with a 16?year?old student.

Between 2010 and 2011, deputies said 31-year-old James Wolfe had been having sex with a 16-year-old student.

Deputies said Wolfe was taken into custody around 11:50 a.m. at his home in Flagler Beach.

Deputies began their investigation on August 14 when they said the victim came forward and told them Wolfe sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions.

Deputies said the victim was 16-years-old at the time of the assaults and that she was given alcohol and an unknown narcotic that made her relax while in Wolfe's home.

In each of the incidents where the sexual assaults occurred, the victim stated that she felt compelled to engage in sexual acts with Wolfe because of his position as a teacher and coach, deputies said.

"This man violated his position of authority as a teacher, coach and mentor of a young student and upon conviction should be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law," said Sheriff James L. Manfre. "He should never be allowed to harm another child."

Wolfe was taken to the Flagler County Jail and was being held on $140,000 bond.
