Deputy responding to assist police crashes into tree, officials say

Deputy expected to be OK

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – An Osceola County deputy on her way to assist Kissimmee police crashed her patrol car into a tree Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The Kissimmee Police Department was investigating the carjacking of a pizza delivery person around 1 p.m. in the area of Hoagland Boulevard and Dyer Boulevard.

The deputy crashed her patrol car into a tree in the area of Pleasant Hill Road and U.S. 17-92. The deputy was taken to a hospital but she is expected to be OK, police said.

No other people were injured in the crash.

Police said they are questioning one or more people who may be connected with the carjacking.
